Real hope comes from looking unflinchingly at our current circumstances and then committing wholeheartedly to creative action. ~ Ma'ikwe Ludwig

Why Coliving? Let Maslow tell you.

This one is from the archives but still holds true, and I go to it every time I think about “WHY COLIVING?”

The majority of us don’t understand the true value of co-living. That’s because co-living is still a recent phenomenon (even after so much buzz), and most of us have never lived in a coliving space. But that's about to change in the next decade. I believe more than 15% of the world’s population (~1 billion) would have experienced coliving by then.

We all crave for something. Some crave financial stability. Others are for the community. Others for self-actualization.

And co-living has the ability to satisfy all of them.

Read the full explanation by Gui Perdrix, where he talks about the case of Evolve, a coliving space he had setup in Bali, and how it satisfied all those needs.

New Book Alert: Utopies en Immobilier, Claire Flurin, Co-Founder, Co-Liv

In the book, she shares her journey from co-founding Co-Liv and pioneering new concepts to fostering broader dialogues for sustainable urban environments. This book embodies our generation’s collective aspirations for more sustainable, inclusive cities and offers innovative perspectives on transforming the real estate sector.

For everyone who shares the passion for reimagining living spaces, this is a testament to how far this kind of idea can travel and the impact it can have on urban development.

Case Study: OpenDoor Coliving, Kyle is looking for a Co-author.

Some coliving operators have proven profitability, however, it remains to be seen what impact coliving has on resident well-being. Is this billion dollar industry just bringing convenience, or is it hitting the mark for a sense of community, belonging, and ultimately well-being? Can the mental state of our society afford to miss the mark?

Kyle Garder says, “We need a deep dive study of the well-being of coliving residents. From personal experience and from immersing myself in the coliving industry for 4 years, I believe a case study on OpenDoor Coliving can achieve this. Their model had the transformative potential of co-ops and the scalable potential of commercial coliving with 19 properties over the 9 years.”

Kyle has lived at OpenDoor Coliving for more than a year and runs his own coliving space called Revillage in the USA.

Here is some more info on the case study for you to look at.
