The Journey - Jan 24th
Hi everyone,
I had a conversation a few days back explaining someone how the world might break down: our financial system is completely inflated, climate change is leading to mass migration and making land inhabitable, AI and quantum computing might lead to outcomes that no one wishes for (including mass layoffs) - and all that excluding other risks such as improved biochemical weapons (think COVID19 on steroids).
That doesn’t sound great. Many people therefore don’t believe in a great future. Many for that reason also don’t want to have children - an issue I wrote about before.
But here is the deal: the world has always looked like it’s falling apart. And if humans are great at one thing, it is to create beauty out of chaos.
And with these words, I invite you to spend the next ten minutes watching the most touching piece of art I’ve witnessed this year:
“Treat a man as he appears to be and you make him worse. But treat a man as if he already were what he potentially could be, and you make him what he should be.”
- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
“Life is not about strategy; it’s about belief.”
Oh, and finally, I published my latest - and craziest - music set so far: where techno meets live performance, drums and some spoken words.
Have a great week,
Gui
